Hang 'em

I was thinking that the shapes these drawing make are really interesting and so tried to fashion something more from them. I sort of hoped they would look like mobiles hanging from the frame. Decide and tell me.

London Design Festival

The lovely people at Elsewhere have asked me to join in there contribution to London Design Festival. They are sending out oversized post it notes which we design/draw on to. They are then posted aound the exhibitions and first to steal them away gets to keep them.
Thanks to Woody, Jeremy, Ben, Damian, Jane and Tara for sitting reasonably still for me.

Bring and Share Summer Fete

I was helping out at the Bring and Share summer fete last week. It was a great day and the tombola was one of the best I've seen! I walked aroud doing my odd portraits for people and they went down a storm! raised £25 for the Tanzanian orphanges. One more brick! Well done to Johnny et al who organized the day and the grand total came to £1500!

Ladies oh so fair

Nick Nettleton

A what?

I first discovered this technique at Art College about 7 years ago. It's taken me 7 years to discover it's called 'Blind Contour Drawing'.  You can draw anything using this method but the most exciting results come when you draw faces.
This way of drawing forces you to really look at the face you are drawing and evaluate what makes it different from all the other faces in the world. In a strange way these scribbles are more accurate than a nice neat pencil drawing.

The way I've chosen to render these reminds me of the Cubism. They are a sort of Cubist caricature. I'll be updating this every time I do a new one but here are a few for now.
